Blenheim Lodge is located on a quiet hilltop in Bowness on Windermere, within the Lake District National Park. Our peaceful retreat has the perfect location, being a close 2-5 minutes’ walking distance to all local amenities and attractions, with the open countryside and walks of Brant Fell cocooning our tranquil and relaxing Bed and Breakfast, which is inspected yearly and rated by the AA as a four-star Guest House. Brantfell summit is an easy 20 minutes' walk from our Bowness Guest House, and offers picturesque 360-degree views from its summit. The pretty long distance Dales Way Footpath, which stretches between Bowness on Windermere and Ilkley, practically ends at the back of our house, making Blenheim Lodge the perfect choice for walkers looking for a comfortable and cosy stay and rest after days of long-distance walking.
Blenheim Lodge is 2 minutes’ walk to the popular World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness, and 5 minutes’ walk from the shores of Windermere, including Bowness Pier, where guests can hop onto one of the iconic Windermere Ferries which take sightseers to Waterhead and Ambleside, as well as Lakeside, home to an aquarium, and also offering vintage rail transport to and from the Lakeland motor museum. Windermere Golf Club is 5 minutes’ drive from our guest house.
Also accessible by road and ferry is Hill Top, home to the famous philanthropist and Lake District writer, Beatrix Potter. Guests can hop or drive onto the car ferry in Bowness on Windermere, about 5 minutes from the Lodge, to make the Windermere crossing to the opposite shore.
