Glastonbury is a small town in Somerset, England, that holds a significant place in folklore and religious history. It is home to the Glastonbury Tor, a hill topped with the roofless St. Michael 's Tower, which is rich in myths and legends, often associated with King Arthur and viewed as a spiritual and mystical site. At the base of the Tor lies the Chalice Well, one of Britain's oldest wells, surrounded by beautiful gardens and orchards. Glastonbury is also known for the ruins of its Abbey, once one of the most important religious centres in the UK, reputedly the burial site of King Arthur and Queen Guinevere. The town is globally famous for the annual Glastonbury Festival, one of the largest music festivals in the world, which takes place a few miles away in the village of Pilton.

Surrounding Glastonbury are several notable towns and villages. To the west, Bridgwater offers a rich maritime history and a vibrant arts scene. Street, just southwest of Glastonbury, is known for its retail culture, being the home of Clarks Village, an outlet shopping area, and the international shoe brand, Clarks. Further east is Frome, a charming market town with a wealth of historic buildings, independent shops, and a thriving arts scene. To the north, the city of Bath offers a unique experience with its Roman-built baths and beautiful Georgian architecture. Additionally, Wells, the smallest city in England (excluding the city of London), lies a little north of Glastonbury on the edge of the Mendip Hills. These neighbouring locations, each with their unique characteristics, enhance the experience of a visit to the Somerset region.
