The property was ideally situated for our needs. It was spotlessly clean and the lounge was outstanding in decor; very pleasant and comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely outstanding, with superb choice and perfectly cooked. Loved the additional touch of sliced sausage and clootie dumpling! The preserves were all home-made and tasted terrific! Hosts, too, were exceptional in their welcome and willingness to please.

I found Dunoon to be a pleasant and friendly town with all the amenities i needed. Cowal is a beautiful part of Scotland with tremendous opportunities for outdoor recreation. A trip to Benmore gardens was worthwhile and the surrounding area is outstandingly beautiful. Dunoon it.self is beginning to feel a bit run down and neglected, very limited eating options at night even at the weekend where you strugle to find anywhere after 8pm still serving food apart from carry out food .

Castle House Museum Gardens are beautiful and well worth the hike up to the flagpole for the view. Food and service at the Lorne Bar are excellent St Ives Hotel has a beer garden worth checking out at weekends and right next to the water. Easy to walk around. Swallow cafe could do with some staff training the person serving ice cream had an attitude issue.

The caravan we booked was excellent. It was a well earned break from home care of elderly mother . The site was gorgeous lovely walks tranquility was everything our little dog also had a great time with so many walks in different areas. Trip alas was to short but it's all we could get time for .love to come back though. Janice Chloe and husband

The staff are extremely welcoming and can't do enough for you from the minute you arrive. The Whistlefield is a fantastic place to just sit and relax in the old world scottish atmosphere. Positioned perfectly for lovely walks and always people walking with or without dogs say hello. The hotel itself is wonderful and the staff go above and beyond to make your stay wonderful. Breakfast and dinners are great as is the overall service, very friendly. I booked 3 nights but ended up staying 4 and have already booked another week in September, can't wait.
