Design, build and finish of the hut is supurb with some really nice and clever features. Although close to the farm, it's not overlooked which is handy if using the hot tub... which we did almost immediately after arrival and spent hours sat in it drinking champagne whilst star gazing. The hut is lovely and warm and there's also a log burner with wood ready to use if you're visiting during the colder months of the year.

There is so much to do in Bridport.
There is so much to do in Bridport. There are many pubs and restaurants and events. There is even a street market twice a week and a good variety of shops. Everything is within walking distance or you can take a bus. The beach is less than 2 miles away. Lots of hotels. Many charity shops. Very safe and friendly with narrow streets and oldie worldly charm and architecture. Good night life with theatre and music events to attract all ages. Good surrounding countryside for walks and pub meals. There is even a guided walk round the brewery.

There are so many places of interest both in and around Bridport. In the town itself there are plenty of places to both eat and drink. The buses take you to most of the surrounding places both big and small. But there are also very reasonable taxi services. Walking around Bridport is a joy as there are so many things to see and it has an interesting history. I can't think of any places I'd avoid.

Our stay was in West Bay just over a mile from Bridport. West Bay offers several choices of restaurant each offering local sea food. With its picturesque harbour there is plenty to see and do. From deep sea fishing trips to catching crabs or small fish around the harbour and pier. The cliff walks are spectacular as are the walks along the coastal paths. There are swimming pools in and around West Bay along with squash, badminton, tennis and table tennis facilities.

Great choice of pubs and restaurants in town, any staff I encountered were excellent. There’s a cinema, museum and plenty of independent shops for wet days. Decent bus service too to other places including Weymouth, Dorchester, Lyme Regis and Axminster.

Bridport is a nice little town with friendly people.
Bridport is a nice little town with friendly people. We like micro-brewery beer and there is a nice brewery in Bridport that gives great tours. We really wanted to visit West Bay and that was close and very nice. The whole area is very scenic.
Fantastic site, staff were helpful and friendly , brilliant as a base for a break away , dog friendly and will definitely book again , nice little gardens for the dogs to play in and very secure. Would recommend the local pub about a 3 min walk up the road nice home cooked meals and very welcoming, The beach is dog friendly too and about a 10 min walk away with a nice little coffee / cake shop en- route . The coastal path will take you into west bay approx 1 mile walk with brilliant views..
Great location in Bridport and really handy for visiting West Bay and other seaside towns nearby. Really good choice for breakfast, all freshly made and we also enjoyed a couple of great evening meals. Even though our room was at the front the double glazing is effective and it was nice and quiet. Friendly staff and excellent service. We would definitely stay again if we head back to Dorset for another staycation.
Breakfast was superb and the set price 3-course dinner, which changed every day, was high quality and good value. We had planned to dine out 50% of the time but we dined in the hotel restaurant every evening. We thought the hotel had done a very good job in managing the Covid-19 restrictions. We also appreciated the hotel's ethos in sourcing whatever they could locally.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Room was above expectation, spacious, tidy and cleaned every day.
Location was also fantastic - middle of Bridport high street. Plenty to do within walking distance. Only a 5 minute drive to West Bay
Parking was not onsite but in a car park a 3 minute walk away- Parking for 24 hours was £2.80 which is very reasonable.
It met and exceeded our expectations. Lynda and David run a great place. We had a very comfortable stay, loved all the thoughtfulness of their accommodation and treats. We loved the view, parking was great and just 10 min walk into town. We used Southcroft as a base to visit Bridport, West Bay, Seaton, Beer and Beaminster.
Excellent location in the centre of Bridport and very easy to find. Good sized living space and bedrooms. Lots of local information provided and the small library on the second floor landing was great. Loved the 'little touches' around the apartment.
The location is excellent for exploration of Bridport itself and West Bay. Our room was super clean and the staff warm and welcoming. It felt like a home from home and we will be returning to The Lord Nelson when we next visit Dorset.
Lovely place operated by a friendly couple who made us feel right at home. Comfy bed and cozy room, everything we needed. Bridport itself is a handy base for the seeing the sights of Dorset and the south-west.
Excellent location for West Bay and coastal walks. Bridport was a bit of a walk but do-able (we weren't driving!). Very handy having a Spa within a short walking distance. House was clean and well organised.
Excellent choice of food available at breakfast. The scrambled eggs and smoked salmon was particularly good. The accommodation is about a 10 minute walk to West Bay and a 5 minute drive to Bridport.
Brilliant Location opposite a stunning beach with super cafe, 10 mins to West Bay / another few minutes to Bridport.
Also visited The Acorn Inn at Evershott for a lovely lunch.
Everything. Lovely classy hotel close to all Bridport town centre shops, bars and restaurants. Breakfast was great, friendly helpful owners and staff. Would highly recommend.
Private access, comprehensive instructions on arrival. Clean, tidy and had everything we needed for our stay. Easy to get to and a lovely part of Bridport.
