Good size, clean room. Very comfy bed and pillows. Plenty of tea, coffee sugar etc for my stay. Nice size bathroom with a good size shower. Plenty of hot water.
Good communication from the host, answered my question within about 10 minutes, despite being out of the country! Overall a very nice place to stay and I would be happy to book again if working in the area.

The room was perfect, very clean, spacious, nice bathroom and big TV. The staff were all lovely, restaurant was great - we ate in the evening and the morning and both were lovely. We booked to go in the spa too and everything was easy to access/well ran. Would recommend for a couple spa break.

Clean and straight forward rooms. Historic building and site. Sloping floor in room. Very friendly and helpful at check in - I needed to change my reservation and the lady was very helpful and sorted it without any hassle or judgement. I liked that the rooms did not have TVs, there is a bar with honesty payments, more than ample tea and coffee facilities in the room and you are directed to where you can get more if you run out. There is a beautiful lounge area, which is well lit thanks to the massive window, I wish I could have spent more time here to make use of that space. A perfect place for contemplation or just a bit of peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle.
Great breakfast, cooked and cereal. Eateries in Whalley are just a short walk away.

There was no central heating in the room so the hotel supplied us with a fan heater, our room was in the courtyard so every time we left the room we got wet because of the rain. We could not book a table in the restaurant because the hotel was busy,if it wasn't that we were so tired we would of left and driven back home as it was we got up early in the morning left as quick as we could

Absolutely fabulous pub.
Absolutely fabulous pub. I've stayed here for 5 nights and had a brilliant time with everyone. It's such a welcoming place and very well run.
The room was great, plenty big enough with a private bathroom. Tea making facilities and a pot of porridge too.
There's plenty going on in the pub during the week. I arrived on a Monday and it was Poker pizza night. There is also a pool table, darts and TV's to watch your favourite sports.
Have a few beers or a few shots of "Mini Guinness" and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere in the bar. Even if your a solo traveller like me.... I felt very safe on my own drinking in the bar which made it more relaxing.
Johnathan and staff are fantastic and all very helpful.
Can't wait to get back!!!

Nice to get out of some of the larger UK cities and see the character of smaller towns, wander the streets and sample the local fare. Not currently a major tourist destination, Accrington is a great visit, and currently a hidden gem; except to the friendly locals.

i was born in accrington 74 years ago. this was just a visit going back in time. i have relatives in clitheroe and whalley and spent most of my time there and around the ribble valley. accrington is not was it used to be when i left in 1966.
The hotel exceeded our expectations and offered really good value for money. The room was huge and well appointed and the facilities were excellent. The grounds were well kept and despite there being some maintenance work going on it didn't interfere. The staff at the front desk were really helpful and they accommodated our early check in needs and also booked a taxi for us.
The room was really lovely and seemed to have been recently refurbished. We really liked the bathroom and the Nespresso machine.
The hotel was very convenient for transport (bus & rail stations within a couple of hundred metres) and shops were close by. The staff were really friendly and the proprietor went out of his way to help, advising on the best places to eat, local services etc.
The room was clean and tea and coffee were provided.
I think the hotel needs a massive upgrade. The age of the hotel presents problems no thermostats in the room. No key cards. Room wasn’t cleaned for three out of the four days dishes that I put outside the door remained there until I moved them. It’s definitely not worth £100 a night.
Friendly staff. Everyone was cheerful and helpful. We only had one meal at the hotel and it was good. A place to purchase snacks and bottled drinks would have been much appreciated. The pillows were outstanding!
We had a lovely time for the night, the bed and breakfast was very clean and welcoming, the host was lovely and very polite, would recommend to anyone for accommodation in Accrington
The location of the property was close to the Accrington town centre and only a walk away. The communication from the host was nice as they responded to my every question and fast.
Comfortable enough for a one-person overnight stay. There weren't too many options in Accrington but this did the job well. Short walk from the station.
