Gretna Green is well worth a visit.
Gretna Green is well worth a visit. The area is lovely with nice courtyards which are well kept and shops selling local produce and Scottish gifts. There were quite a few weddings taking place while we visited the historic blacksmiths area. We also visited the outlet centre which had a lot of good shops and bargains to be had.

I could definitely recommend both The Gables Hotel & The Gretna Hall Hotel, although I only actually stayed in The Gables Hotel, but had food in both. The wedding reception was held in the Gretna Hall Hotel & the main meal was amazing.
Some wedding guests stayed further afield and didn’t sleep properly being near a noisy motorway.
The Blacksmiths was well worth seeing & it has an interesting history. Plenty of parking at the rear of the buildings.

We had a breakdown of our car battery.
We had a breakdown of our car battery. Friends came to help us jumpstart. This was known in the reception. Still our friends received a parking ticket for 60£ !
I don't think we shall stay there again!
We went for a family wedding for three nights, the location was fantastic the staff were so nice and couldn't do enough for you, the room was a chalet at the back of the hotel, it was absolutely spotless bed was so comfy, we even had Netflix on our TV, all the facilities were brilliant they even had irons, ironing boards hair dryers, breakfast was lovely and loads of choice, would highly recommended to anyone thinking of staying, plenty to do all around the hotel, and shops and places to eat very close, look forward to going back.
This property was perfect location for the wedding we were attending opposite at Gretna Hall Hotel- that was why we booked the property. we were so pleasantly surprised that our hosts Helen and Stephen were absolutely lovely! we loved chatting to them- they made us feel so welcome and were accommodating to all our requests.
The room was perfect for what we needed and breakfast in the morning was delicious!
We couldn’t have asked for a better stay for what we were expecting to just be an easy option!
We stayed overnight at the hotel as it was the halfway point on our journey from Kent up to the far North of Scotland. We had a lovely family room which was clean and comfy. Staff were all really friendly. Food in the restaurant was delicious. Gretna Green is a beautiful place with lots of history. Shame we were only passing through this time, would have liked longer to explore but we were on a tight schedule due to sad family circumstances.
We stayed 1 night on our way to moray and then on our way back. This was booked last year but had to be cancelled because of lockdown, but the owner kepted us updated all the time, and rebooked our stay for now. Very friendly and helpfull would recommend this hotel we will certainly use again when we visit scotland again. Breakfast is very good rooms well stocked and comfortable
We stayed here the night before my wedding, it’s a perfect location to Gretna green and a beautiful country house style hotel, dogs are welcome everywhere and are well looked after. The food was lovely and staff welcoming. Rooms are clean. There are some signs of wear and tear but for us it just added to the charm. Lovely outside area too.
Carolyn was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. She did us a lovely tasty breakfast and had a chat with us after. The room was very clean and spacious. The location was perfect for a wedding at Gretna Hall Hotel and a short drive to the local shopping centre. Thank you for looking after us ☺️
The property was in a quiet area off the motorway. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was very good.
It’s a destination for weddings and it was enjoyable to see a few, complete with bagpiper, while we were there.
Overall, the property appears to be dated.
Perfect location! great breakfast! great evening meal! Quick service! Staff friendly, professional ! I could not manage stairs, I have mobility problems at times. hotel accomodated for this at short notice! staff very helpful.Perfect car parking facility.
I was stopping off on a long journey. Handy location at Services.. Hotel was busy but quiet. Had everything I needed. Food outlets at Services next door.
Dog friendly. No dog walk but plenty grassed areas. Bed was comfortable l.
In an excellent location near to the railway station and the famous attractions, especially just across the road from the Gretna Hall Hotel and the couple currently running it are lovely. It is currently up for sale.
Breakfast was excellent. The hosts, Ian and Anna were the best we have met at any hotel or B&B. They could not have improved their service, if they tried. The room was clean, light and comfortable.
Breakfast was at main welcome break site 500yards away was good and reasonably priced for a service area hotel clean and tidy dog friendly but out dated fine for one night
The appearance and decor of the hotel are very pleasant - our room was nicely decorated but very small. It’s a very convenient location just off the A74.
