Coastguard Cottage is a lovely coastal family home in the heart of Newquay. Originally built to house the Coastguards in the 1930s, the cottage is within walking distance of the harbour, beaches, South West Coast Path, shops and restaurants. In the large rear garden - a rarity for Newquay, there are lawned, planted and patio areas with seating, bbq and chimnea. There is also a fruit hedge with apples, blackberries, red currants, gooseberries and vegetable beds. Please help yourself. :) Our home is shared with two friendly, very well behaved labradors - Izzy and Ozzy - who have full access to all ground floor areas. They are featured in a couple of the photos, doing what they do best now, taking it easy!
Hello, I am Jane and so looking forward to being your host during your stay with us. I work from home and will be available for the majority of your time here, happy to chat and share my knowledge of the local area, events, activities and anything else that you may wish to know. I am a keen runner and will probably bore you with tales of this given half the chance. I might even show you a fabulous costal trail or two if you share this hobby! Walking distance to the harbour, 7 beaches, South West Coast Path and town centre. Ideal location for coastal walks along the headlands, water activities - surfing, body boarding, kyaking, SUP etc Variety of local restaurants and bars - fine dining to pub grub and take-aways. We really are within walking distance of most things you could possibly want :) The 'Newquay Train' bus stop is seconds away for a lovely quaint 'hop on, hop off' tour of Newquay. Newquay Bus station 2 mins walk. Newquay Train station 10 minutes walk. Newquay Airport 20 minutes drive. We have a beach trolley you are welcome to use for those days on the beach. Perfect for transporting a sunshade, bodyboards, food and drinks etc. - and of course it's perfect for carrying all your rubbish back here to dispose of correctly! :D
