Great location, just off the high street in Newmarket, not that you would know it. Vast amounts of space and parking behind secure gates. Noise - none.
Our corner room was wonderful with great views. Really first class service in the bar and restaurant. We would definitely stay there again.

The breakfast is the only part that disappointed us. We were under the impression we would get a cooked breakfast - as per the reviews on a cooked breakfast. There was boxes of cereal, bread and buns that we could help ourselfs too.
Otherwise everything was very clean comfy and stylish

If visiting a local race yard obviously Newmarket is a base.
If visiting a local race yard obviously Newmarket is a base. The race horse museum is very good - allow 4hrs to do thoroughly.
Get up early and watch racehorses on the gallops.
Otherwise Newmarket is very run down these days. High street has many boarded up premesis and low grade eateries.
Nice curry house and Italian.
If we came again we’d stay in Cambridge and get a 20 min train.

The only thing I did not like was the description of the...
The only thing I did not like was the description of the location provided by the owner of the Golden Boar was deceiving and not honest. I was led to believe by the description given to the location that it was in walking distance of Newmarket and as I have a very good knowledge of Newmarket for nearly 40 years I was horrified that I was in a small village with absolutely no public transport, no shop, WiFi on my own phone would not work due to the building and impossible to log onto the property WiFi my partner was in Dubai and this made life very difficult for us.
The property was actually 8 miles from Newmarket as told to me by all the taxi drivers I had. I was fortunate the taxi company had one or two drivers which would take my dog otherwise I would have been in extreme difficulty. The property is actually closer to Mildenhall and Bury St Edmunds than Newmarket as described. The taxis there and back even with me walking many miles still cost virtually £100 over the day and half I was staying.
Room (119) was super comfortable - especially in storm force winds! Warm, cosy, lovely bath to relax in. Super comfy king size bed. Dinner in Squires was a delight - great menu, food and staff. Lovely lounge areas with open fires to add to the coziness. All staff very friendly and professional. Great location in Newmarket, loads of parking space and close to everything. Sadly, ran out of time so unable to use the spa/leisure facilities which was one of the reasons I booked this hotel. Very good value for a Sunday night stay in January.
The property was a quaint old cottage. My room was in the new extension. Its 20 minutes from centre of Newmarket. A short walk from a pub that does food. Room was clean and comfortable , and better than the hotel room my daughter was staying in. The host Kira , was lovely and friendly and made me feel at home. I would certainly go back , and recommend this place very highly. She makes the best real coffee in the morning!
The property was excellent, very clean, a lovely little place in a beautiful village. The owner Yvonne was wonderful very helpful friendly and very welcoming, phoned me up to help with directions and times of eta , she even gave us a lift to the racecourse and offered to take us out into Newmarket, food was delicious, would most certainly stay again 100% first class.
The hotel just felt right everyone without exception was friendly , helpful and efficient. The room was well laid out and immaculate, it had a bath , fantastic! The restaurant was excellent, great value proper food with an extensive range , Pinky served me with a big smile and was super efficient, I won’t look further when staying in Newmarket,
Lovely place to stay for going to the races in Newmarket - a short taxi ride to the racecourse. The staff were very helpful and welcoming, serving a lovely breakfast of your choice both mornings. The room was lovely and clean, with everything you need.
Fantastic breakfast menu and very grand surroundings and gardens. Great location on main Newmarket high street . Wonderful bedrooms - loved the Asprey toiletries. Really interesting stay - so many racing related paintings and artefacts.
Nice hotel, very modern and tidy. Rooms are very well equipped for a long stay if your a contractor like us.
Just off the main high street enough so you don't hear the traffic.
Beds are very comfortable.
Excellent location for Newmarket town centre. Very clean and loved the complementary bar, nice touch.
Breakfast was amazing lots of choice and cooked breakfast was very tasty.
Would stay again
A comfortable oasis in the middle of Newmarket. Impeccable facilities and attentive staff who combine professionalism and friendliness. Stupendous breakfast on starched white linen table.
location was exactly what I was looking for, right in the heart of Newmarket. The apartment itself felt like a step up from typical small apartments. couch was very comfortable
Lovely comfortable bed in a spotlessly clean room. Quiet location, within walking distance of Newmarket Town centre. Excellent value for money and exactly what we needed.
Private entrance, off street parking, and nice city center of Newmarket is close by. Also not far from Mildenhall RAF and Lakenheath RAF are only a 25min drive.
