This was a wee gem of a hotel, and we very much hope it won’t be long before we can return. It was perfect for swimming in Loch Ness and walking in the hill paths behind the hotel. Boat trips on Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle and Inverness are all within easy reach - the one hour boat trip actually leaves from the harbour in front of the hotel. The staff were excellent, as was the food and drink which we enjoyed as we watched the sun either rise or set over Loch Ness.
Housed within the world-famous Loch Ness Exhibition Centre, this family-run hotel is ideally located for touring the Highlands.

Brilliant location, bit tricky to find at first but all made sense eventually! The staff were all friendly and very helpful.
Gorgeous cat behind reception!
And the view from room may was maybe not the sort you'd take a photo of ( a pretty stone wall and some plants,) but short walk out to the courtyard area and it was lovely.
In a beautiful, tranquil location in picturesque Drumnadrochit, beside one of the most famous and romantic stretches of water in the world, this traditional Scottish hotel dates back to around 1740.

Hotel is very tired and facilities poor.
Hotel is very tired and facilities poor. Hairs in bath as well as shampoo/conditioner. Staff were not really customer focused and not available once they had shown us our room, which did not meet expectation.

Over priced. Relies on Monster nonsense.
Over priced. Relies on Monster nonsense. For a pretty part of the world it’s a bit scruffy. Very overpriced, Too popular, No bars so you’re ripped off in hotels for a simple drink.
Stay elsewhere if you have taste.

I would recommend just stopping for lunch in Drumnadrochit, the hotels are well overpriced and all cashing in on the monster theme. We were even charged £16,50 for a wine and a beer in one of the hotels down the road where we were thinking of going for dinner. A real rip off.

From the moment we arrived staying at the Drovers Lodge was a pleasure. Angela is the perfect host and the accommodation is very comfortable. The views from the house and the terrace across Loch Ness are beautiful. We had breakfast on the terrace ( yes it was warm and sunny ) which was a nice way to start the day. The breakfast was great with a complete range offered. I would strongly recommend the Drovers Lodge as a place to stay.
This place wowed us! We booked on a whim as we got rather tired on our Scotland road trip and we are so glad we stayed here! The exterior and interior of the hotel are so gorgeous and historic. We loved all of the details. The on site restaurant is also phenomenal. We had dinner as well as breakfast the next morning and couldn't stop talking about how delicious. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.
Lovely property , with large spacious rooms, amazingly comfortable bed, incredible views, and a tremendous host. Close to Inverness and Drumnadrochit, but far enough away to get away from the hustle and bustle of other tourists. Property benefits from a great outdoor space to relax in and an excellent Italian restaurant less than a minutes walk away. Couldn’t recommend this enough , you won’t be disappointed
The location was stunning, so close to Loch Ness, it was so peaceful and the lodge was clean, had everything you would want for a self catering holiday, Inverness was close with all the restaurants and take and culture you would hope for, we spend a day at Ben Nevis and we’re blown away with the beauty of the landscape of Scotland. Thank you Simon for meeting us at such a late hour due to a 14 hour trip
It is a nice and calm place to stay and recharge in the nature. There are a lot of hiking trails around. It is close to both Drumnadrochit where you can visit Lochn Ness centre and some giftshops and restaurants, as well as Urquhart castle. The restaurant in the Loch Ness Inn was great and I loved the possibility to sit outside by the river in the backside of the hostel.
The hotel is perfectly placed by the side of Loch Ness. We had a great room overlooking the Loch. We arrived later than expected and ended up eating in the hotel restaurant. This was probably the best thing that could happen as the food was incredible. We also had a full breakfast in the morning that far exceeded expectations. Would definitely stay again.
Having spent a weekend here before we had no hesitation booking a room again. The menu for the restaurant offers great food and we were stuffed when we left the table. We required to leave for an activity early in the morning and were offered an 'early' full cooked breakfast to set us up for the day.
Great hotel with lovely staff. We stayed 3 nights and found the stay very comfortable. The family rooms at the back are great with bunk beds for kids! Food at the restaurant is great and we really enjoyed the live band too! The staff were very kind and helpful!
The food at breakfast or when dining was really good. Although dining and drinks in the evening were a little pricey compared to other restaurants we ate at. The hotel was clean and decor was traditional if a little dated.
Fantastic location for exploring Loch Ness and beyond. Local village had co-op for food supplies and a nice couple of local restaurants we used for evening meals. Great value rooms, great welcome from all staff.
An exceptional hotel. Of a very high standard with every thought given to the guests comfort. Although there are no evening meals the reception booked us into a hotel restaurant a five minute walk away.
Homy feeling, very quiet and tranquil location yet convenient drive to Inverness, Loch Ness and other Highlands attractions. Very nice host and responsive to your inquiries. We liked the retro design.
Clean room, beautiful view and excellent food! Staff was amazing and friendly. grounds were nice and this hotel sits up on a hill we’re you can see the Loch. Would love to stay here again!
