Breakfast was plated to order and was excellent. Quirky, old, building makes a nice change from the concrete block hotel chains. Well placed for the town centre, it's literally a 5 minute walk to the High Street.

The host was lovely and so interesting to speak to. Great location, lovely and quiet. Great breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Not a great deal in Elgin, to be honest, but it's still well worth a visit just to see and go round the cathedral, particularly on a fine day! The city's also well placed to stay over as you explore the coast and surrounding countryside (including its many distilleries and castles). The hotel where we stayed had no dinner service, but there's a selection of restaurants in the town to choose from and the local 'Spoons is the same good value no matter where you are!

It's a good base for visiting lots of places in Moray and it has a few historical attractions itself, like the cathedral. It has a nice swimming pool, ice rink, park and places to walk. You can walk most places easily. The town centre has a lot of character but the actual shops are getting more sparse with each year. We enjoy the charity shops. There are some good cafes and restaurants too.

A hire car is vital, though I also travelled by bus.
A hire car is vital, though I also travelled by bus. The cathedral Is very interesting & I enjoyed the museum. Johnstons cashmere factory has lovely things & an excellent restaurant. Elgin was my mother's home town & I know it well but for many it will seem small & unimpressive ; it is however a useful base to explore the valley of the river Spey if you like the best whisky, or go to the sea at Lossiemouth or visit the lovely walled garden at Gordon Castle at Fochabers.

Elgin is a nice market town and like many Scottish towns, it has seen better days, but it is perfectly located for exploring the local area - notably the coast villages of Lossiemouth and Hopeman - both are charming.
It has a couple of nice pubs - Thunderton and Drouthy Cobbler, the latter being good for food, and a few excellent coffee shops - allowing you to avoid the chains. It's time will come again.
Moraybank B&B was a great place to stay in for the start our Scotland trip. We were there for four days. It was within walking distance of the bus station (we used the public bus everyday), town center, and other things to see in Elgin. The neighborhood was quiet.
Our room was impeccably clean and roomy. One could have whatever one wanted to breakfast, and it filled us for the day.
Our host Zophia was warm and fun and gave us great tips on things to see in Elgin and along the Moray Coast.
The room we were allocated (a superking, I believe) had a four poster bed, television, bathroom with bath and shower, and tea/coffee-making facilities. It was a good size, very clean, comfortable and easy on the eye, and had French Doors to the grounds.
The hotel seemed to be running with a skeleton staff compliment, however, the breakfast waitress (different person each day) was excellent considering she was, also, covering reception. Both girls were pleasant, well-organised, and efficient.
Very pleasant apartment for two couples
in a beautiful historic building located strategically close to Elgin and the beautiful Moray Coast. Well equipped dining kitchen, en suite bedrooms, comfortable sitting room, outside area, this place has it all.
Lots to do and see: beaches, coast walks, fishing villages, excellent links golf courses, historic Elgin, Fort George, Culloden etc
Moray weather is usually a lot better than the surrounding parts of Scotland.
Would stay again.
Overall a good hotel. Pros: Carpark, amenities (coffee, tea, biscuits, shower/shampoo soaps/iron) comfortable bed and room/ good power plug placements, TV channels, front desk.
Cons: The electric kettle was dirty, may require a new replacement, didn't have the time to highlight it to the front desk. Additional portable heater could be offered during very cold days.
Others: Did not have the chance to try but the restaurant is very popular.
Enjoyed large comfortable bed, large bathroom with powerful shower, fresh towels daily. Appreciated bottled water and fridge in room.
Cooked breakfasts were delicious, nice pots of tea too. All staff were attentive and helpful.
Ample free parking was a bonus. Many beautiful places to visit both inland and on the coast.
Plenty of great dining venues in Elgin both in hotels and restaurants, many were up side streets.
Super homely b&b ,only 3 rooms. Excellent location near the centre of Elgin, museum (100 yds) and cathedral very close (across main road). Access via one-way system around council offices. Wetherspoons 300yds away. Parking available across the road, normally spaces available after 6pm. Breakfast very good.
Excellent friendly owner.
Superb base for over 20 nearby golf courses (only managed to play 10!)
This was without a doubt the best B&B we've ever stayed in. It's been beautifully renovated, was exceptionally clean and comfortable, is very close to the centre of town and has ample off street parking. Peter was a wonderful host and I would highly recommend Kilmorie House to anyone looking for great value accommodation in Elgin.
The location was ideal for us. This is an hotel that we stayed at 30 years previously before the family came along. It was an absolute delight to come back and find the same ethos in place. Excellent rooms and a superb restaurant. We will definitely be back as soon as we can.
The hosts are wonderful, very friendly and nice. We can definitely recommend to stay here. We got a delicious cooked breakfast, the room was beautiful, freshly renovated with nice bathroom.
At our next stay in Elgin we will definitely stay there again if possible.
The property had everything you could need for a short or long stay. The hosts are very generous and friendly people. Perfect for a stay if visiting Speyside, Lossiemouth, Elgin, or just need time away from the city.
Staff were very friendly, hotel was very clean, room was spacious, breakfast was fantastic and over all just a very good hotel, will definitely stay again if I am in Elgin. Also plenty of parking.
Isobel?? on the front desk/ waitress made our stay! Very warm and friendly and came across really well. A total asset to the hotel. Evening food nice enough. Good choice on menu. Good breakfast.
Beautiful Victorian guest house with stunning antiques and decor. Our hostess was lovely and welcoming. Excellent location in Elgin, walking distance to the High Street and restaurants.
Comfy and cozy room in Elgin. The place was 100% clean. Free parking outside along the road. No problem with late check in (they leave your keys in a bowl in the front porch).
