Britain’s 4th most popular visitor destination, Bristol boasts Brunel’s magnificent Clifton Suspension Bridge spanning the River Avon. More Brunel handiwork is in the harbour where his SS Great Britain steamship is moored. Pirate walks here detail the city’s underground naval history.
Further north in Clifton is the world’s oldest zoo outside a capital city. Other Bristol attractions include At-Bristol Museum and the Grade I-listed Corn Exchange with its 4 "nails" outside where money changed hands. Also worth a visit is St Nicholas Market, in a Georgian square home to several bars and a Slow Food Market on the 1st Sunday of every month. Other Bristol shopping options include shopping centres at Cabot Circus, and Cribbs Causeway on the outskirts.
As a student city, Bristol really comes to life after dark. The live music scene here is fantastic and has given way to several internationally known bands, but for something more alternative head to Eastside.
Another option for alternative-seekers is the work of hometown street artists Banksy. Just like Booking.com’s Bristol accommodation, his work is spread throughout this fabulous city.
This Gateway to the West Country is served by Bristol Airport and Temple Meads train station. The old Bristol to Bath railway line is now a cycle route and makes a great day trip.

Great city; lots of shops; restaurants; attractions; walking tours
The British history and art museum was free to access and well worth a visit. Ate lunch at little bistro along the harbourside (Arnolfini) - lovely to sit in the sun, watching boat trips; harbour master sailing around. Cabot Circus has many options for food, together with hundreds of pubs/restaurants throughout the town centre. The food/bar outlets along the river are lovely on a nice, sunny day (near Welsh Back Street). Parking at Cabot Circus for 3 days worked great - offers on free parking option with a stay at Future Inn. Definitely worth thinking of, to save looking for alternative parking.

First time exploring Bristol but we were only there for less than a day. What we saw was excellent, a vibrant city with lots of culture and things to do. Our experience was a positive one. The Bristol Beacon was a great venue to watch Paul Weller at and we had a lovely meal at Ciao in Denmark Street. Too many things on offer for our short trip. We will definitely be back for longer to see more that the city offers.

Clifton is a nice part of Bristol, lots of trendy cafes and bars. The Clifton Catholic Cathedral is well worth a visit - Brutalist in design but with fantastic stained glass built in the same era as Liverpool RC one, again in the round.

I liked the shopping in Bristol and the people were friendly. There are so many parts of Bristol that you would need a few days to see it all.
And of course its home to Banksy, which I managed to see. There is a lot of Graffiti Art, which is amazing, but there is a lot of 'normal' graffiti which is an eyesore.
The Clean Air Zones are expensive if your only visiting, £27 for two and a bit days, If you went for a week it would a lot to your break, for nothing in return. And there seems to be a lot of Traffic lights and roundabouts lol

Bristol is a great little city.
Bristol is a great little city. Nice to see some of the UK outside of London. Very close to Bath, Cardiff, and other interesting places to see. We stayed in Clifton which is a very charming little village just above the city center and very easy to get to. Parking is a bit of a challenge but we managed to figure it out quite quickly.
I stayed at this hotel during my wife's birthday. The staff were really friendly and helpful, a complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates were sent to our room on arrival with a lovely birthday card. The restaurant and the food were superb.
The bar staff were very accommodating and friendly. We had excellent room service and a truly wonderful stay. We will certainly stay at this hotel again next time we visit Bristol because of its grand interior, location to the waterfront and city centre. Strongly recommended.
Breakfast was excellent as on my previous visit.
I was ill during my stay with a virus and had difficulty getting any sleep which is the reason I have been slow to respond to this request to rate the Clifton Hotel.
Consequently, not able to comment fairly on whether the bed was comfortable, although I suspect it was very much OK
Had a problem with booking in which was satisfactorily resolved and thought all staff helpful.
Clifton location is excellent for visitors to Bristol.
I liked the cleanliness and the friendly staff. The breakfast was very good. I would recommend including the breakfast in your booking. Although I stayed there for two weeks, I never got tired of the hotel breakfast. I also liked the close proximity to the Castle park and the city centre. The hotel is also within 20-25 min walking distance to the University of Bristol, which was convenient to me. The bar has a nice seating area where I could work.
I have stayed in some pretty swanky hotels around the world but this was just as comfortable as any of them. The staff are super pleasant and when I realised I’d forgotten my toothbrush the gave me one. The position is very convenient for driving and I was able to park at the back which made arriving and leaving easy as I didn’t need to drive through the city centre streets to get in and out of Bristol.
In life you generally get what you pay for - that is not the case at The Washington - it is really over-priced for what you get. Not sure if that's just Bristol - maybe it's horribly expensive everywhere - but this place should be a budget hotel not costing over £100 for BnB and a single bed. Breakfast merely adequate - it filled me up is about all I can say.
I can't imagine a better combination of a location and the price of the hotel. The place is just a few minutes from Bristol Temple Meads train station and within a walking distance of the city centre. There's a kettle with tea and coffee, a TV and a comfortable bed. If I ever come back to Bristol, I know where to stay.
Great Pub just outside Bristol, short taxi ride or bus..... Quirky rooms, very comfortable and great value alternative to staying in City Centre. Pub was busy and had great choice of beer. Defo best breakfast we've had for a long while. Thanks for a good stay and see you again on our next visit to Bristol
The hotel is in a great location right across from Cabot Circus in Bristol City Centre. The hotel feels modern and the staff were very welcoming. Even though the hotel was busy, it was easy to sleep and there were no late night/early morning disturbances which led to a great nights sleep.
Check in early was quick and easy.
Location was great and free parking city centre was a bonus.
Bar staff we excellent, one of the best steaks I've even had!
Room clean and comfy.
Breakfast was nice and better than some hotels.
Overall, a very nice family night away.
Wonderful hotel in central Bristol. The reception staff were lovely and helpful, made us feel very welcome. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was extremely good. The around the hotel was buzzing, many lovely bars and restaurants. I highly recommend it.
Stunning hotel. Lovely, friendly staff, beautiful big, stylish bedroom with absolutely stunning bathroom. Breakfast was superb. Close to the city centre, 5 minutes to the Watershed. Will definitely now only stay here on our trips to Bristol.
The airstream trailer was super cool and a great space to stay. The hotel is in a very central location and we could easily get everywhere we wanted to go. Surprisingly comfortable and modern on the inside.
Rooms were clean and spacious, lady who checked us in was really friendly and helpful and the hotel was a good location, there's a bus stop just outside with a direct bus into Bristol City centre.
It was the perfect location for Motion Bristol. Which was only a couple of minutes walk. the staff were very friendly and the hotel, WiFi, shower and beds were great. Bar and restaurant too.
The property was very convenient for our very early flight from Bristol Airport
Communications were very good, it was easy to find, comfortable and clean
