The Riverside was built around 1584, by Sir Richard Grenville of the Armada fame. He was the benefactor who provided Boscastle with its fine sea walls. The Riverside, situated along the River Valency, has ten spacious rooms with river or harbour views. The property has had an extensive refit in early 2005 and there are tea and coffee making facilities, colour televisions, central heating, wireless Internet access and ensuite facilities in every room.
The Riverside is only five minutes from the South West Coastal path and Boscastle Harbour, but is situated in the centre of the village. We are adjacent to all amenities, with excellent restaurants and pubs nearby.

Near Boscastle - a rocky and shingle composition 1.6 miles away. Mostly rocky with extremely poor access. We have however included this beach as there is a large grey seal colony nearby and you can sometimes see this from Buckator cliff / south west coastal path

Bossiney Haven Beach

Near Tintagel - a sandy composition 2.3 miles away. A bit of a walk along the coast path or over fields (sometimes with cattle in) from the B3263 at the village of Bossiney. The Cove is deep set with high cliffs giving it good shelter. Virtually no beach at high tide otherwise a good sandy beach and not too busy.

Tintagel Beach

Near Tintagel - a sandy composition 3.3 miles away. Good facilities with a cafe, shops, gift shop toiltes and a pub in the village of Tintagel

Merlins Cave Beach

Near Tintagel - a sandy and rocky composition 3.3 miles away. Located right next to Tintagel Castle and only accessible at lower tides. The beach is not the main draw to visitor's but the cave, which goes right under and through to the other side under the narrow strip of rocky land linking the castle to the mainland.
