The Glasgow South Eglinton Arms Hotel is located approximately 12 miles south of Glasgow city centre and 6 miles west of East Kilbride in the village of Eaglesham in a predominately rural area the hotel itself is set within a green belt in the village with an area of parkland known as the Eaglesham Burn on three sides and a pleasant place to walk through.
The village of Eaglesham is unique in being the first in Scotland to be designated an outstanding conservation area in 1960 and thus the whole village is designated a grade 1 listed area though some building range in grades.
The local area around the Best Western Eglinton Arms Hotel is a great place to stay , both peaceful and rural yet within easy reach of Glasgow and the many attractions the city has to offer with several good shopping venues all within a reasonable drive, sports facilities and stadiums, and if you drive out and north past Glasgow you will be in the start of the highlands and the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. Nearby there are a number of gardens and country parks to visit ( see our attractions list below).

To the west there is the much larger Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park, a reasonable drive though the park has many activities, marked trails and cycle route that you can follow. On the far west of the park, there are great views over the Firth of Clyde and across to the Isle of Bute.
