Ringwood is a historic market town located on the western edge of the New Forest, Hampshire, just a stone's throw from the border with Dorset. Ringwood has a rich history that dates back to Anglo-Saxon times, and it's mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. Today, the town is known for its characterful Georgian and Victorian architecture, a vibrant weekly market, and a number of craft breweries, including Ringwood Brewery, which is popular for its traditional ale production and tours.In the vicinity of Ringwood, you'll find an abundance of picturesque towns and intriguing attractions. To the south-east lies Christchurch, a town boasting an 11th-century Priory, a natural harbour and beautiful beaches. Further along the coast, you'll encounter the vibrant town of Bournemouth, famous for its sandy beaches and lively nightlife. Just to the east of Ringwood, the New Forest National Park provides a tranquil retreat teeming with diverse wildlife and offering various outdoor pursuits, including walking, cycling, and horse riding. The towns of Fordingbridge, known for its medieval bridge over the River Avon, and the charming, thatched-roof village of Burley are also nearby. To the west, across the border in Dorset, you can easily access the towns of Wimborne Minster, Blandford Forum, and of course, Wareham, each with their unique offerings.
