About Fowey and the surrounding area

The town's location provides easy access to several notable places in the surrounding area. To the east, you'll find the quaint fishing villages of Polperro and Looe, both known for their picturesque harbours. Westward, the historic port of Charlestown, which has been used as a filming location for period dramas including "Poldark", and the vibrant town of St Austell, home to the famous Eden Project near Par, are short drives away. Across the water from Fowey is the village of Polruan, reachable by a regular passenger ferry service. A little further upriver is the beautiful town of Lostwithiel, known for its antique shops. Additionally, the South West Coast Path runs through Fowey, providing fantastic walking opportunities along the stunning Cornish coastline. With its mix of charm, history, and natural beauty, Fowey serves as an excellent base for exploring the diversity of South Cornwall.
