The hotel is located close the the A5, a main route to north and mid Wales and therefore very convenient as an overnight stopover. Locally Shrewsbury town centre is just over two miles away with a good selection of shops restaurants and pubs. The Travelodge Shrewsbury Bayston Hill hotel is a good budget option for the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital 3 miles away if you need to visit or work there and require accommodation locally.
The hotel itself sits in a small service area with a garden centre close by and a fast food restaurant, however there is a pub just south of the hotel with a restaurant. As mentioned, there are further options to eat out in the town centre.

The area in general has a rich history on many levels, the Wroxeter Roman City with a recreated townhouse and museum is just over 5 miles away. Telford to teh east is and particularly Ironbridge and the Ironbridge Gorge contain many museums, buildings and exhibitions dedicated to Britain's industrial heritage. This would make a great family day out for all.

Finally, this Shrewsbury Travelodge is close to the welsh border, and in just 40 miles you could be in the Snowdonia National Park, a stunning scenic area with so much to do and see and although the drive is about 1 hour it is well worth the effort if you want a full days outing
