If you want a bite to eat out, the gorge hosts a number of eateries from fish and chips to cream teas, particularly relaxing if the weather is good to eat outside watching the river run close by. Finally Jacobs Ladder, a long climb up to the top of the gorge thereafter you can climb further up to the top of a viewing platform for spectacular views on the surrounding countryside. Alternatively, you can travel further into the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) for some fantastic walks or just tour the area.
One of the other big attractions in the area is Wookey Hole, a cave complex well worth seeing followed by attractions on the exist such as a paper making demonstrations, and an old fashioned amusement arcade.
If you are looking for something completely different, why not spend the whole day at the seaside ? There are several opportunities, all quite different and closer than you think at approximately 12 miles away to the west. firstly Weston-super-Mare, the largest and most well known of the resorts with great beaches,, shops, a pier and views out in to the Bristol Channel and South Wales on a good day. To the south of Weston, Brean sands, somewhat built up with holiday parks but a good beach and many places to eat out locally catering for teh holiday parks. finally Burnham-on-Sea, a quieter option with a lovely promenade to walk along, fine sea views, a good beach and a small town if you need some shopping.
If you are travelling by air or need a stop over south of the City , Bristol Airport is only 10 Miles by road and this hostel would make a relaxing place to stay
The Hostel can be booked for large group bookings or team building activities.
