The Royal Sportsman Hotel has been awarded a quality three star rating by both the AA and Visit Wales. It is a full service hotel and is considered to be one of the very best within its rating in Snowdonia with an AA Rosette for its food.
In August 2010, the hotel`s restaurant - Peppino`s - was included in `The Good Food Guide` based on readers` recommendations and inspection reports.
The hotel has been extensively refurbished in a new house style and the bedrooms upgraded with new pastel colours; this was completed in April 2010. There are both small/standard and larger superior rooms to suit all sizes and pockets, all warm comfortable and exceptionally clean. There is also free and unlimited WIFi throughout, free covered parking, and a drying room with storage area for golf clubs and cycles.
The hotel has the only AA Rosette in Porthmadog for its food, served in Peppino's, a beautifully restored 60 seat Restaurant in a contemporary setting. In Gelert's Bar, you can sample award winning Purple Moose real ales brewed in Porthmadog or a wide selection of wines or cocktails, whereas in the coffee lounge, you relax, check emails, read the papers or simply enjoy one of our fair trade coffees.

Harlech Castle is a Grade I-listed medieval castle located within the stunning scenery of the Snowdonia National Park pearched on the coast with views of nearby Mountain ranges and the sea. The castle though ruined, is still very substantial and is still impressive.
Located a short walk from Criccieth town centre on the Llyn peninsula and on a high strategic rocky headland right on the coast. Though ruined, there is still much to see plus a gift shop and refreshments.
